Students and future project professionals will benefit from an archive of over 200 academic journals, thanks to a unique arrangement brokered by APM in the spirit of ‘You said, we did’.

A series of ‘You said, we did’ articles has previously showcased how APM has responded to ideas and feedback from the project management community and put them into practice.

The concept was born after APM chairman Steve Wake encouraged a focus on “Listening, Learning and Leading”.

He told Project journal : “These are words we want APM to stand for.

"Listening, Learning and Leading aims to open up conversations to engage with the project management community.”

The latest example was initiated by Dr David Hillson, HonFAPM, who had boxes of back copies of the International Journal of Project Management  (IJPM) dating from May 1994 and wondered if APM wanted them, as he is now semi-retired.

“The idea was to make them available to all APM members and scholars, both UK and internationally, into the future,” Dr Hillson said.

It was decided that the journals should find a home in an academic library where they could be accessed by students for reference in their studies.

The University of Leeds, welcoming the journal donation, offered to house the journals.  A spokesperson said: “We gratefully accepted them as a valued contribution to our collection of project management resource materials.”

The journals will be accessible to the university’s students, academics and support staff.

IJPM offers wide-ranging overage of the latest academic project management research. Published eight times per year by Elsevier, APM members can claim their discount by visiting the members’ page.
